Kanthan, a leader of LTTE in Batticaloa, who was arrested by Special Task Force (STF) last month (28th August) with a cache of arms committed suicide by hanging himself from his Open Air Prison in Batticaloa. (Not drowning himself in Batticaloa lagoon as reported by the GoSL media)
Kanthan was forced to performing unspeakable horrors such as eating three meals a day, meating visitors and most importantly bathing. He was also forced to show weapons and ammunition dumps of the LTTE but chose not to do so.

TamilNet can confirm that no cache(s) of arms had been recovered by the GoSL from the information obtained from Kanthan. Our journalists have personally checked those locations and the weapons are 100% safe.
Kananthan killed himself before the STF could force him to reveale the location of the hideouts but he valiantly took off his belt and Hung himself from the roof of his prison camp. Wishing to Die on Eelam Soil and not in Sinhala GoSL Land, Kanthan slowly went towards the light…
